Can Kindergarteners Debate?

Published by KitKat at 4:17 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

In Louisiana, they have passed a law that says basically that from Kindergarten through middle school, teachers are allowed to present alternate views of global warming, human cloning and the origins of life, in order to promote “critical thinking and logical analysis and open and objective discussion of scientific theories.”

OK, I do think kids are amazing, smart and naturaly capable bla bla bla. But to expect kindergarten and first graders to engage in
critical thinking and logical analysis and open and objective discussion is somewhat laughable. I mean honestly. What kind of 6 year old is able to debate the pros and cons of human cloning?

Also, I highly doubt these hillbilly teachers will be allowing for an environment where critical thinking is valued, nonbelievers will be shunned, because a huge percentage of the teachers and students believe that crap. Just one more reason atheists should save their children from “God’s good people”
